What a session looks like

Each session starts with what's most alive for you that week. Sometimes that's a specific moment, like the email you avoided or the argument that went sideways. Sometimes it's a broader pattern you keep running into.

From there, you and Drew slow it down. What were you hoping for? What showed up instead? What would a slightly different move look like next time? Most sessions end with one small, concrete thing to try before you meet again.

Bring an ordinary stuck moment.

You don't need a crisis to start. An ordinary stuck moment is often the most useful thing to bring: a commitment you missed, a conversation you keep postponing, or an hour lost scrolling after an exhausting day.

Sessions combine honest conversation with skills you can actually use, then practice between sessions. Together you look for the smallest meaningful step, try it, and come back to review what got in the way. This isn't graded homework, and nobody is aiming for perfect productivity. The point is to learn what helps you move, a little at a time.

Why weekly

Consistency matters more than intensity. Meeting weekly gives enough time to try something in real life and enough continuity to learn from it. It also makes it harder for the hard stuff to slip quietly off the agenda.

If weekly isn't workable for you, that's a reasonable thing to bring up in the first conversation.

Therapy works best when it connects to the rest of your week.

Fees and paying for sessions

Inner Space Psychological Services is a private-pay practice. Drew does not bill insurance directly. On request he can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Whether and how much you're reimbursed depends on your plan.

Please ask about current rates during your consultation. As a self-pay client you also have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. Read more on the Good Faith Estimate page.
